Junior bye laws

BYE-LAWS RELATING TO PROBATIONARY JUNIOR AND JUNIOR MEMBERS

Probationary Junior Members may only use the course after 7.30 p.m. all evenings, except Tuesdays, April to September inclusive and only if accompanied by an adult Member, and before 10.00am on holes 16, 17 and 18, subject to availability,  on days when attending lessons with Club Professional, and only if accompanied by a member of the Junior Golf Sub-Committee.

Applications for Probationary Junior Membership
for those aged 9 -12 as on 1st January will be accepted up to 31st January each year.

USE OF COURSE BY JUNIOR MEMBERS
Monday: Must commence play on first tee at before 8.30 a.m. on front nine*
Tuesday: On Tuesdays following Bank Holiday Mondays, must commence play on first tee before 8.30a.m.* on front nine. On all other Tuesdays, may commence play up to 4.30 p.m., subject to Society Outings and Club competitions having priority.
Wednesday: May commence play up to 1.30 p.m. Between 1st May and 31st December may commence play after Club timesheets have finished.
Thursday: May commence play up to 4.30 p.m.
Friday:  May commence play up to 4.30 p.m., subject to Society Outings having priority.
Saturday, Sunday & Bank Holiday Mondays:
May commence play 30 minutes after Club timesheets have finished.

*Check Pro Shop for first starting time on the day.

Note: Junior Members may commence play after 7.30 p.m. only if accompanied by an adult Member.

Eligibility to play in Club Competitions
Male Junior Members with a handicap of 14 or less may play in all singles competitions (other than the Captain’s Prize and the President’s Prize), provided they are accompanied by at least one adult Member. Eligible Male Junior Members are permitted to book tee-times for the President’s Day and Captain’s Day and play for the purpose of returning a score for the Golfer of the Year competition only.

Male Junior Members with a handicap of 18 or less may play in all four-balls and team events, provided they are accompanied by an adult Member.

Male Junior Members with a handicap of 19 or more may play in all Adult Semi-Open competitions, provided they are partnered by an adult and play off a maximum of handicap allowance of 18.
Eligible Junior Members playing in Club competitions are not subject to the above time restrictions.
All Junior Members may play in a maximum of 4 Invitation / Semi-Open Mixed Foursomes competitions and only if accompanied by an adult Member. They may not play in other Club Mixed Competitions, except for Open Competitions.
Female Junior Members may play in designated competitions as agreed by the Ladies’ Committee.
General:
Junior Members are not allowed in the Lounge or Members’ Bar (Morrow Room), unless accompanied by their parent or guardian, and will not be served alcohol on the premises. Junior Members may not be in the Clubhouse or its environs after 10.00 p.m. in Summer and 8.00 p.m. in Winter. Summer and Winter times are defined by when the clock is moved forward or backwards.

Members who meet Junior Members through playing in competition or socially should familiarise themselves with the Club Code of Ethics relating to Junior Members, available on the Club website (Members’ Section).
