GOLF
Founded in 1912 by the Reverend Morrow and designed by the distinguished golf course architect Harry Colt who also designed and participated in redesigning over 300 courses including Oxford, Sunningdale (New Course), the East and West courses at Wentworth and the redesign of Sunningdale (Old Course), Muirfield, Royal Liverpool and Royal Portrush.
On May 28th, 1928 Walter Hagen played an exhibition match over the new 18-hole course. Hagan partnered Club professional Jack Quinn against Willie Holley and Willie Nolan who won on the 15th. Over the years the Club has maintained a prestigious record of achievement in golf having won many regional and national inter club competitions. Since 1951Clontarf Golf Club has hosted the Lords Mayors Cup each year and is an important part of the Irish Amateur diary.
We are only 4.3 Kilometres (2.7 miles) from O’Connell Street in Dublin’s city center and are one of the closest golf courses to the centre of a capital city to be found in Europe.
We are easily accessible by bus, taxi or car etc from the M50 and M1 motorways and in close proximity to Dublin Airport and the seaside villages of Portmarnock, Malahide, Sutton and Howth.
The course is a beautiful 18 hole parkland test which demands precision, good course management and is a very challenging and enjoyable experience.

BOWLS.
Our Bowling Club was founded in 1925 and in 1952 hosted the Home Internationals with Ireland, England, Wales and Scotland participating. This event was also attended by the President of Ireland, Eamon DeValera who was presented with a silver Jack.
